1. Introduction
The Ugly Roof Contest
(contest) is hosted by AMR Company, Inc (AMR). The
prize ("Prize") is listed as one (1) new roof at no cost
to contest entrant and is sponsored by the company
listed as the sponsor (Owens Corning). One (1) winner will
be selected from among all entries received. The
odds of winning depend on the number of entries
received, during the Promotion Period as specified
below. The winner will be the roof judged the
ugliest as chosen by an AMR and/or Owens Corning representative
and an independent 3rd party. The Contest is offered
electronically, via the Internet and only within the
United States, except where otherwise prohibited by
law. ONLY ONE (1) WINNER WILL BE AWARDED THE NEW ROOF.
All other participants will have an extended offer
(beyond contest deadline) for special pricing for a new
roof.
2. How to Enter
To enter visit

and follow the instructions for the on-line entry form.
Limit: One entry per household. AMR & Owens
Corning are not
responsible for incorrect or inaccurate transcription of
entry information, late, lost, stolen, illegible,
incomplete, misdirected or postage due entries, or
entries received through impermissible or illegitimate
channels. Additionally, AMR & Owens Corning are not responsible
for any human error, lost/delayed data transmission or
omission, interruption, deletion, problems or technical
malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer
online systems, servers, or providers, computer
equipment, software, or injury or damage to any computer
related to or resulting from participation or
downloading any materials in the Contest. AMR reserves
the right, in its sole discretion to cancel or suspend
the Contest should virus, bugs, unauthorized human
intervention, or other causes beyond the control of AMR,
in AMR's sole opinion, corrupt the administration,
security, fairness, integrity, or proper operation of
the Contest. In the event of cancellation, AMR may
elect to award (1) one winner out of all participants
who entered the Contest at the time of cancellation. AMR
reserves the right to seek damages from any entrant who
deliberately attempts to damage AMR or undermine this
contest.
3. Alternative Method of
Entry
To enter without online
access, hand print: Ugly Roof contest: your name,
address, roof photograph, day and evening phone numbers,
email address (if any). Mail the postcard/letter
to: AMR Company, Inc., 11 Commercial Place, Bluffton
SC 29910. All mail-in entries must be received
no later than three (3) business days prior to the
judging. Contact 837-5334 to request photo of roof
taken by AMR Representative.
4. Eligibility
The Contest is open to
legal US residents 18 years of age or older at the time
of entry. Employees, officers and directors of AMR
& Owens Corning their respective parents, subsidiaries and
agents, their immediate families (defined as parents,
spouses, children, siblings and grandparents) and those
with whom such persons are domicile are NOT eligible.
By participating, entrants agree to abide by these
Official Rules, including all eligibility requirements,
and the decisions of AMR. All of AMR's decisions
are final and binding in all respects. In the
event of a dispute as to the identity of an online
entrant, entries made online will be deemed made by the
authorized account holder of the email address submitted
at the time of entry. Potential winners may be
required to show proof of being the authorized account
holder for that email address. "Authorized Account
Holder" is defined as the natural person assigned to an
email address by an Internet service provider, online
service provider, or other organization responsible for
assigning email addresses for the domain.
5. Timing
The Contest Period
("Contest Period"), i.e. run-time is April 1, 2008 -
May 31, 2008. One (1) winner will be announced on
June 4th, 2008 by telephone number and email address (if
any) given at the time of contest entry. The
winner of the ("judging") will be chosen by AMR and/or
Owens Corning representative and an independent 3rd party.
6. Prize
One (1) new (re)roof will
be awarded.
7. Winning
Shingle selection
COMPARABLE TO YOUR EXISTING SHINGLES to be made from
Owens Corning
roofing line. If the winner fails to comply with these
Official Rules, that winner will forfeit the prize.
Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission for AMR &
Owens Corning to use the winners name and likeness for advertising
and promotional purposes without compensation, unless
prohibited by law.
8. Privacy
AMR will not share
Entrants entry information. However, AMR &
Owens Corning
may use this information to send Entrants promotional
material specific to AMR & Owens Corning's products and services
via email and/or postal mail.
9. Additional Terms
By accepting a prize,
winner agrees that AMR & Owens Corning, their respective parents,
subsidiaries and affiliated companies, and the agents,
employees, directors or officers of these companies, are
not liable whatsoever for any injuries, losses or
damages of any kind resulting in whole or in part,
directly or indirectly, from the acceptance, possession,
use or misuse of any prize. Winner is responsible
for any applicable taxes on prize, including luxury tax
if any. Neither AMR & Owens Corning are responsible for any
injury or damage to persons or property which may be
caused directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from
downloading any material from AMR's Web site, regardless
of whether the material was prepared by AMR or a third
party, and regardless of whether the material is
connected to AMR & Owens Corning web site by a hypertext link.
Participant agrees that:
(1) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action
arising out of or connected with this Contest or any
prizes awarded, other than the administration of the
Contest or the determination of winners shall be
resolved individually, without resort to any form of
class action, and exclusively by the United States
District Court for Beaufort County or the appropriate
jurisdiction; (2) any and all claims, judgments and
awards shall be limited to actual out of pocket costs
incurred including costs associated with entering this
Contest but in no event attorneys fees; and (3) under no
circumstances will entrant be permitted to obtain awards
for and entrant herby waives all rights to claim
punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any
other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket
expenses, and any and all rights to have damages
multiplied or otherwise increased. SOME
JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSION
OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO
THE ABOVE LIMITATION OR EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
All issues and questions concerning the construction,
validity, interpretation and enforceability of these
Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the
participant, shall be governed by, and construed in
accordance with the laws of the State of South Carolina.
All federal, state and local laws apply.
